This course will be taught by emerging resident printmaker, Mackenzie Kimler. It will introduce you to etching, a printing process used by artists for over 500 years. Join us for the day and learn the basics for preparing, etching and printing a intaglio copper plate. This course will cover how to etch a line drawing into copper using hard ground, as well as how to ink up and print the plate. 

The class is geared for beginners but everyone is welcome.  Non toxic processes are use in this class.  All supplies will be provided, including a 3x4 copper plate, in paper etc.  Everyone will walk away with multiple copies of there printed plate.

Mackenzie is a recent cooper union graduate. She specialized in printmaking, extensively studying different printmaking techniques including etching.
